2018-2019 Percussion Auditions

Below is packet information for all returning and incoming percussionists wanting to audition for a spot on the OHS Drumline for the 2018-2019 school year. Please distribute to your 8th graders zoned for or planning to become members next year.

PERCUSSION CAMPS:
We will have 3 percussion camps for ALL percussionists in the OHS Band.

• May 2, 2018 – 6-9 pm
• May 9, 2018 – 6-9 pm
• May 15, 2018 – 6-9 pm

We will have percussion instructors, and directors here to help teach and review this packet and hold auditions to set the line PRIOR TO THE SUMMER.

SUMMER REHEARSALS:
The OHS Percussion section meets weekly over the summer months on Wednesdays, times right now are TBD and more information is forthcoming.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Students should not feel overwhelmed by this packet! We take all interested 8th graders and work with them to make them the best possible percussionists. 

• Students interested in Mallet Percussion (example, marimbas, xylophone, bells, and synthesizers) will have a separate packet that will be sent out shortly. 
• Any students with a piano background are strongly encouraged to play in the front ensemble.
